Liverpool announce Real raid

Real Madrid playmaker Nuri Sahin is set to join Liverpool on a season-long loan subject to passing a medical.

The Turkey international, 23, is down the pecking order at the Bernabeu and boss Jose Mourinho was keen to send him out on a temporary deal. The Portuguese thinks the Premier League is the ideal place for Sahin to continue his development, with his guile set to help Liverpool try to restore their status as a top-four side. Sahin will be the fourth new arrival at the Red under Brendan Rodgers following Joe Allen, Fabio Borini and Oussama Assaidi. Meanwhile, Kaka looks set to end his spell with Real by re-signing for AC Milan, having reportedly been offered to the Premier League but finding no suitors.
