Mascherano - Guardiola has changed me

Barcelona's Javier Mascherano has thanked departing coach Pep Guardiola for turning him into a 'new player'.

The Argentine moved to the Nou Camp in 2010 but struggled to break into the team as Sergio Busquets kept his place as the side's defensive midfielder.
It was suggested that Busquets' form could see Mascherano leave the club but Guardiola had a different view on the situation and decided to reinvent the 27-year-old as a central defender.
The former West Ham man has started all of Barca's big games this season and has now thanked the departing coach for developing him as a footballer.
"There's a before and after Guardiola in my career," he said."He's turned me into a new player".
