Mascherano commits to Barca
Javier Mascherano wants to remain at Barcelona for "many years" after penning a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2016.
The Argentina international has been one of the most consistent players in the Catalan outfit's ranks since making a big-money move to the Nou Camp from Liverpool in 20120. Speculation has been mounting over his future with a number of top clubs keen to acquire his services. But the South American midfielder has now ended any speculation about where he might ply his trade in the next few years and admits that he is content to stay with Barca to fight for more honours. "I am very happy that a club as big as this has offered to extend my contract and I can feel relaxed that as long as I do things well, I can stay here for many more years," he said.
