Javier Mascherano says he wants to stay at Barcelona for the rest of his career after a stellar season at Camp Nou.
The Argentina international has established himself as an important first-team member with the Bluagrana over the last 12 months, following his conversion from defensive midfielder to centre-half.
El Jefecito's current deal runs until 2014 and although he says he won't be asking for a new contract for a few seasons, he is adamant that he has no intention of ever leaving the Catalan giants.
"I have no intention to leave Barcelona. I am very happy with the way things are going here," Mascherano said. "I don't think I deserve a new contract."
"If I have the chance to continue or get a new deal in the future, that will be great. The club will decide," he added.
