Barcelona's star striker Lionel Messi insists he values the team's success much higher than his own personal achievements.
The 25-year-old enjoyed an incredible campaign last season, with 72 goals in all competitions, but the Catalans failed to win La Liga and the Champions League.
They did manage to claim the European Super Cup and Copa del Rey but it was considered a disappointing season by all at the Nou Camp after fierce rivals Real Madrid claimed domestic honours.
Messi has been called the best-ever player by sections of the media but the Argentina international hit-man has made it clear that, while being proud of his exploits, whatever the team achieves is far more important.
"I would have preferred to have scored fewer goals and won more trophies, but due to the number of goals I scored, it will be a truly unforgettable one for me," he said. "The more goals I score the better, and however many more titles we win, then that's even better."
