Rossi future hanging on fitness

Giuseppe Rossi's agent says the striker's future will only be sorted out when the Villarreal man returns to full fitness.

Rossi is currently recovering from a knee operation after suffering a recurrence of his cruciate ligament injury in April and is not expected to be back in action until January. Rossi's agent Federico Pastorello, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, says Roma were keen on the 25-year-old before his injury and talks over a possible exit will only resume when he is fit again. "Roma had shown an interest in Giuseppe Rossi," Pastorello said. "However, negotiations have proved more difficult since the player's injury. "Talks will re-open once Giuseppe returns to play." Rossi is under contract at Villarreal until June 2016 but is thought to be keen on a move following their relegation from La Liga last season.
