Sociedad close to defender deal

Real Sociedad are close to securing the services of Roma defender Jose Angel, who has been attracting plenty of attention this summer.

Reports indicate Sociedad are in 'advanced talks' with the full-back and the Serie A club and a deal appears close. Angel only joined Roma last summer in a deal worth around £3m from Sporting Gijon but has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain this summer with Valencia, Sociedad and Portuguese giants Benfica all keen. According to the latest claims, Sociedad will take Angel on an initial 12-month loan with an option to buy the 22-year-old in 12 months' time.
