Valencia set to sign Cissokho

Valencia have announced they have agreed a deal to sign French left-back Aly Cissokho from Lyon.

The 24-year-old, who has long-been linked with a move to the Premier League and Newcastle United in particular, will move to the Spanish club on a four-year deal, providing he passes a medical. Cissokho joined Lyon from Porto in 2009 and Valencia are delighted to wrap up a deal for a player of his quality. The Spanish club's sporting director, Braulio Vazquez, told their official website: "Aly is a player with vast international experience that belies his youth. "He has played for the French national team and has participated in high-level games in competitions such as the Champions League, Cissokho is physically powerful, very strong defensively and someone who will increase the competitiveness of the team, especially on the left side."
