Hamdan Al Kamali is keen to turn his loan spell into a permanent contract at Lyon after moving to France from Al Wahda in January.
The United Arab Emirates international defender was snapped up in the winter transfer window to become the first player from the UAE to join a European club. He has yet to make a first team appearance for the Stade Gerland outfit and has been plying his trade in the reserves, but is clearly loving life in France and wants more of the same in the coming years. It is not known whether coach Remi Garde is keen to keep the youngster at the club but Al Kamali has no desire to return to the Al Nahyan Stadium. "I want to stay in Lyon, I love France, I love the club, the structure, management and I am very happy here,"he told The National. "My aim is to get into the starting Xl of the first team. I do not want to go back to the UAE Pro League. "I am very happy in Lyon personally and professionally. The club is very happy with my development and performances, the standard here is very high and everyone from the president, players, management and all the staff have been very nice and down to earth to me since day one and have welcomed me to settle in."
