QPR midfielder Joey Barton has confirmed he hopes to secure a move to Marseille before the transfer window closes.
Barton was hit by a 12-match ban by the Football Association at the end of last season following his sending off and subsequent actions in QPR's final day defeat at the hands of champions Manchester City.
The midfielder, who still has 10 games of his ban remaining, used his official twitter account to confirm he is now keen to depart QPR and hopes to join Marseille, despite interest from elsewhere.
"I am hopefully that things will be sorted out soon. Other clubs are in but I only want to play in Marseille. This is the place for me," he wrote on twitter.
"Hopefully, QPR and Marseille can finalise the deal in the next few days. My heart is already in the Vélodrome...
"Not gonna cry about it. Maybe it's just time to move on. I enjoyed parts of last season and believe I am more than capable of playing this year. But the manager (Mark Hughes) doesn't."
He added: "I am not the type of player to sit on the sidelines and take the cash. It's not me. I could do that for the next 3 years but it's not me. I want to play football."
