Camara pushes Montpellier towards title

Souleymane Camara secured Montpellier a 1-0 victory over Valenciennes to move them five points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

Camara put the host ahead after just four minutes as Montpellier missed a host of chances throughout to make it more comfortable. However, they held on to extend their lead over Paris Saint-Germain, who face Sochaux at the Parc des Prince on Sunday afternoon. Reigning champions Lille stayed in the title race with a 2-0 victory at relegation-threatened Dijon in a match which saw Idrissa Gueye sent off for violent conduct, while Dijon had Abdoulaye Meite and Bennard Yao Kumordzi red carded.
