Lille's Mathieu Debuchy has stated that he wishes to leave the club with Alan Pardew's Newcastle United leading the chase.
The France international wore Lille's colours in their opening game of the season, a 2-1 victory over St Etienne.
However, the 26-year-old - who has 219 league caps for the French outfit - remains determined to try his hand abroad.
Both the Magpies and Inter Milan have had bids rejected but Debuchy remains hopeful that he will be plying his trade elsewhere this season.
Speaking to French media, he said: "I don't want to talk about my future.
"I heard what the chairman said. The transfer window is open until September 4 (in France). I still want to go. We will see."
Chairman Michel Seydoux is not willing to let the player, who has been with the club for eight years, go without a club offering the appropriate valuation.
