France's preparations for Euro 2012 continued with a win over Iceland on Sunday - but only just as they came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
Adil Rami's late strike gave Laurent Blanc's men a narrow victory as the build up continues to Poland and Ukraine.
With just under two weeks to go to the start of the European Championships, Blanc made plenty of changes to give several squad members the chance to impress but they were staring at an embarrassing defeat when 2-0 down to their opponents, who are 115 places below them in the FIFA World Rankings.
However, Mathieu Debuchy's goal gave Les Bleus hope in the second half before Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery equalised five minutes from time and then Rami's late goal sealed what had looked like an unlikely victory.
