Garde ready for contract talks
Lyon boss Remi Garde hopes last weekend's Coupe de France triumph was enough to earn him a new deal at the club.
The former France international took over last summer on a one-year deal and has led the club to a first piece of silverware in four years. Garde is set to meet with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas to discuss his future at the club. Having been reluctant to offer him a long-term contract initially, it is thought Lyon will open talks on a new deal after Wednesday's clash with Valenciennes. "Before the match, I don't want him (Aulas) to read my thoughts in the newspaper," Garde told L'Equipe. "Otherwise, it is no hardship to meet with him. "I have considered everything, Saturday's win as well. Everybody is proud of the club, myself more so than anyone. Is my stock high now? It's not for me to judge."
