Gunners close in on Giroud deal
Montpellier's deputy president Laurent Nicollin says the club are close to agreeing a deal for the sale of Olivier Giroud to Arsenal.
The highly-rated forward scored 25 goals for La Paillade last season as they sealed their first ever Le Championnat title.
His form prompted interest from a number of Europe's top sides with Bayern Munich reportedly holding talks with his representatives in April.
The 25-year-old is currently away with France at Euro 2012 and Montpellier official Nicollin has confirmed that he is now likely to move to the Emirates once he returns from the championship.
"Discussions are happening and going well," Nicollin said. "The fee is set and things are moving along serenely."
