Lyon have confirmed the captures of left-back Fabian Monzon from Nice and free agent Steed Malbranque.
Lyon have secured Argentine Monzon for 3million euros in a player-plus-cash deal that has seen French forward Jeremy Pied move in the opposite direction, while the transfer fee could eventually rise to 4m euros depending on various clauses. Monzon, 25, has been signed to replace Aly Cissokho, who has joined Spanish side Valencia for 6m euros. Malbranque has been without a club since his contract with Saint-Etienne was terminated last season. The 32-year-old, who spent 10 years in England with Fulham, Spurs and Sunderland, began his career with Lyon before departing in 2001 and has signed a one-year contract with the French giants.
