Marquinhos makes PSG switch
France Ligue 1,
Paris Saint-Germain have completed a deal to sign 19-year-old defender Marquinhos from Roma on a five-year contract.
The Ligue 1 champions had made no secret of their admiration for the talented teenager, who last season ousted experienced Argentina international Nicolas Burdisso in defence for the Serie A capital club.
"I am delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a club where so many Brazilians have played and helped write the club's history," the former Corinthians centre-back told the club's official website.
"I will do everything I can to continue that tradition and write my own name into the club's illustrious history books.
"Paris Saint-Germain will help me continue my progression alongside exceptional players, with the desire to win trophies and also win the hearts of the supporters."
New coach Laurent Blanc, who was brought in as the successor to Carlo Ancelotti earlier this summer, has already secured deals for Edinson Cavani and Lucas Digne as the Paris giants look to retain the Ligue 1 title and make a challenge for the Champions League next season.
