Reims announce Fofana signing

Recently-promoted Stade de Reims have unveiled Mohamed Fofana as their first signing of the summer.

Boss Hubert Fournier, who guided his side to second in Ligue 2 last season, has regularly said that the main area he wanted to strengthen ahead of the new season was his defence as he wanted to find competition for the established pair of Mickael Tacalfed and Anthony Weber. Fofana certainly comes with plenty of top-flight experience having previously played 116 games for Toulouse and Reims club president Jean-Pierre Caillot believes the Mali international will provide more than adequate cover. "Our number one priority was to reinforce the central defence," said Caillot. "It's going to be a long season and three players for two positions certainly won't be too many."
