Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Hugo Lloris wants to leave the club but admitted Spurs' bid has been rejected.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has been in the market for a new keeper since taking over at White Hart Lane from Harry Redknapp and he has made no secret of his desire to sign Loris. But the two clubs cannot agree on a fee for the 25-year-old and he remains a Lyon player. Villas-Boas wants Lloris to compete with veteran Brad Friedel for his place but while Aulas confirmed the player wants to leave he revealed Spurs' offer has been turned down. "Hugo wants to play in one of the best clubs in Europe," he said. "This year there was an approach from Tottenham that was quickly rejected. "If he absolutely wants to leave, we will look at the proposals but they must be consistent with what we want. If not, he will stay."
