Triaud urges Gourcuff focus
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has advised Lyon misfit Yoann Gourcuff to focus solely on football to recapture his best form.
The 25-year-old midfielder left Bordeaux to join Lyon in 2010 but has failed to live up to his €22 million price tag with just five goals in 48 appearances in all competitions. Bordeaux benefited from the sale of the former Milan man but, despite the cash generated by his departure, Triaud is sad to see his talent go to waste. "I'm sad for Yoann because he is going through a difficult period," he told RMC. "But I'm also pretty confident because he is very young. He has immense talent. "He was incredibly good with Bordeaux. It may have been difficult for him to handle the media but once he is freed from some of the people around him, we will rediscover the Yoann Gourcuff we all appreciate."
