Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell says he would welcome Harry Redknapp back to the club "with open arms".

Redknapp was sacked by Spurs following a four-year reign at White Hart Lane but has already said he is "hungry" for another job and Mitchell has admitted he would love to see the former Cherries boss back at Dean Court. He told BBC Radio Solent: "There would always be a role for Redknapp at Bournemouth. We would welcome Harry with open arms - he has a huge amount of experience." Mitchell went on to say Redknapp, who was appointed director of football at Portsmouth in 2001, would not have to return to the club as a manager. "If there was ever a chance of bringing him back we would jump at the chance," he added. "It doesn't mean he would have to work in the management side of things, he is a good character to have around in general."
