Preston North End winger Lee Holmes is close to returning to first-team action having recovered from a knee injury.
The Lancashire outfit currently find themselves in ninth place in League One under manager Graham Westley, but Preston will have FA Cup duty on their minds this weekend, when they face Yeovil Town in the first round of the competition proper.
That game might come too soon for Holmes but he could return for the league clash with Carlisle United on Tuesday and the 25-year-old is looking to get back in the action.
He told the club's official website: "It has been frustrating, especially picking the injury up so early in the season. Every week kept coming and the injury didn't seem to be progressing.
"We are at a stage now where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is pleasing."
