Kitson signs for Blades

Promotion hopefuls Sheffield United have added to their ranks with the signing of veteran striker Dave Kitson on a short-term deal.

The 32-year-old has been a free agent since being released by Portsmouth and has agreed a deal at Bramall Lane until December 31. The forward will bring plenty of firepower to the Blades' attack and boss Danny Wilson is understandably delighted to have brought in such an experienced campaigner. "It is not very often you come across a quality and experienced player like Dave in these circumstances," Wilson said. "It is fantastic that he wants to come to us. "Dave has been to a few of our games recently and our performances have convinced him to join us...he feels he can contribute," he added.
