Notts County boss Keith Curle admits the club are negotiating a deal for former Carlisle striker Francois Zoko.
Zoko, 28, spent the last two seasons at Brunton Park but failed to agree a contract extension at the end of last season and has since received interest from a host of Football League clubs, including Sheffield United and Preston. But Notts County are now favourites to sign the Ivorian and chief executive Jim Rodwell is lining up contract talks, but Curle admits there are still other teams in for him. "He's had negotiations with a few other clubs, but has not been able to reach an agreement yet, not just financially, but also over style of play and ambition," Curle told the Nottingham Post. "We got an opportunity to speak to him before the Scarborough game so we took it and he stayed to watch the game. "The situation is ongoing. We're still talking. Jim (Rodwell) will be speaking to his representatives to try to see if a deal stacks up." Ivorian Zoko scored 13 League One goals for Carlisle last season.
