Robinson delight at match-winning showing
Tranmere winger Andy Robinson was delighted after hitting the first hat-trick of his long career in Tuesday's 3-0 victory at Carlisle.
The former Swansea and Leeds midfielder netted three long-range goals - including two unstoppable free-kicks - as Rovers made it two league wins from two at Brunton Park. "I think I'll struggle to sleep tonight. You have those nights when everything you hit seems to go in and this was my night," the 32-year-old said. "The lads were asking if that was my first hat-trick and it is the first hat-trick of my career. All the better to do it for my hometown club so I'm pleased with that." Tranmere are now unbeaten in three matches this season, with an extra-time win at Chesterfield in the Capital One Cup followed by a home victory over Leyton Orient in League One on Saturday.
