Huddersfield Town have announced the appointment of former Rochdale manager Steve Eyre to the club's backroom staff.
Eyre becomes the League One club's new senior professional development coach, a role which entails working with academy manager Mark Lillis and Simon Grayson to help youth players challenge for first-team roles. Eyre spent 21 years with the Manchester City youth team before moving into management at Spotland. He was sacked after six months in charge but is now preparing for his new chapter in football. He told Huddersfield's official website: "I hope to bring experience of my young playing career, coaching experience from over two decades at Manchester City and my relatively short spell as a manager, as well as lots of enthusiasm and encouragement."
