Port Vale boss Micky Adams bemoaned his side's bad fortune inTuesday's 2-0 defeat against Accrington at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

A first-half Padraig Amond penalty and James Gray's injury-time goal sealed victory for Accrington, preventing Vale from building on their encouraging 3-0 opening-day home win over Barnet. "The result was not a reflection of the game by any means. How we have not scored, I don't honestly know. It was either wasteful finishing, very good goalkeeping or lots of luck, but it's absolutely amazing how we have not come away with anything," said Adams. "I don't think we could have done any more than we did, other than stick the ball in the net of course." Adams' side will look to get back on track when they travel to Morecambe on Saturday.
