Torquay chairman Simon Baker insists Martin Ling will be given funds to spend as the club continue to reshape the squad for next term.

First-choice goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik joined Championship side Peterborough in a £300,000 deal this week. Eunan O'Kane and Mark Ellis are also reportedly mulling over possible moves away from the Gulls. Baker has backed Ling to reinvest the money wisely. "I hope our fans will look back at the quality of the signings that Martin made when he was pretty rushed for time last year," said the Torquay chairman. "No manager has a hit with every signing, but players like Bobby Olejnik, Brian Saah and Rene Howe were terrific. "Some of the money we get in will go towards Martin's budget. He knows what he's doing and, given a bit more time this summer, I am confident he will get it sorted."
