Barton to sign Fleetwood deal
Joey Barton will sign a six-month loan deal with League Two side Fleetwood Town, according to the latest reports.
The 29-year-old QPR midfielder has been training with the Football League newcomers in the recent weeks, however it was never expected a deal would be sorted out between the two clubs.
Barton is set to serve a 12-match suspension at the start of the coming season, following his sending off on the final day of the 2011-12 campaign, added to by the Football Association's verdict to find him guilty of two counts of violent conduct.
If Barton signs a six-month deal with the Cod Army he can serve his suspension quicker than if he remained with the Premier League outfit.
It is not being reported that a deal will be finalised over the weekend, with Barton expected to feature in Fleetwood's friendly with Tranmere on Saturday.
