Burton Albion have clinched the signing of former Oldham skipper Zander Diamond after he was released by the Boundary Park club.
The former Aberdeen centre-half was without a club after the Latics released him in May after making only 23 appearances for the side. Diamond, 27, was appointed skipper at Boundary Park during an impressive stay but was forced to move on after a clause in his contract proved too expensive for the npower League One club. The Scot is Gary Rowett's second signing of the summer following the addition of midfielder Robbie Weir as he builds a squad to try and push for promotion from League Two next season.
