Rochdale boss John Coleman insists he has no hard feelings towards Joe Thompson after the winger left the club for League One Tranmere.

Thompson rejected a new deal at Spotland in favour of a move to Prenton Park. Under Football League rules, Dale are entitled to compensation for the 23-year-old. "We've got a situation where Joe's out of contract. We made him the offer that we could offer him. Joe asked to think about what he wanted to do himself and has to think about him and his family," said Coleman. "I've got no problems with Joe. It's a football decision that he's made and we've been compensated, possibly not what we'd have got at a tribunal, but we've come to an arrangement with Tranmere." Thompson came up through the youth ranks at Rochdale and played over 150 matches, scoring 17 goals.
