Chesterfield boss Paul Cook has revealed his delight a bringing in his first signing Liam Cooper from Hull City on a loan deal.

The 21-year-old defender is looking to get more first-team experience under his belt, having found regular football hard to come by at the KC Stadium this term. Cook was pleased to acquire Cooper's services and, with options limited at the back for Chesterfield, the Spireites boss is pleased to have the youngster on board till at least December 1. He told the club's official website: "We are delighted with the signing of Liam Cooper. "He is a player that attracts a lot of interest from clubs, and not just in this division. "Liam brings great experience, he has played in the Championship, and with Sam Hird suspended and Neal Trotman injured it was important that we got someone in immediately and to get a player in of Liam's quality is fantastic."
