Crewe boss Steve Davis has called on the squad's experienced players and the fans to drive his side into the play-offs.
Crewe are on the brink of the top seven after a 12-game unbeaten run. They sit behind Oxford only on goal difference with four games remaining. Davis is hoping old hands Steve Phillips and Dave Artell can guide the likes of Ashley Westwood and Luke Murphy through a highly-charged period. "Westy and Murphy have played a lot of games, but they've not been around the play-offs before, so players like Steve and Dave will have a big part to play," said Davis. The Alex manager believes the club's fans also have a big role to play, with more than 1,000 expected at Macclesfield on Saturday. "The supporters are the biggest help in games when players are having a hard time, and they have been magnificent for us," added Davis.
