Duo make Dale switch

Rochdale have completed the double signing of Craig Curran and Ben Smith from Carlisle and Shrewsbury respectively.

Forward Curran, 22, has signed a one-year-deal, while goalkeeper Smith, also 22, has joined the League Two club on non-contract terms.
Curran started out at Tranmere, where he made over 100 appearances for the Merseyside club before spending two years at Carlisle, where last season he struggled for matches.
Smith made 36 league appearances for Shrewsbury after signing from Doncaster in 2010 and both go straight into the squad for the Capital One Cup tie against Barnsley at Spotland on Saturday.
