Leitch-Smith signs new deal

Crewe Alexandra striker AJ Leitch-Smith has signed a new deal at the club, which will keep him at Gresty Road for another 12 months.

The 22-year-old, Crewe-born forward has scored 12 goals in 51 appearances for his home-town club since joining them as a 17-year-old five years ago. The player has scored seven times for Alex this season as they chase a play-off spot, but he will hope there are more to come after penning a new 12-month deal with a slightly-improved goal bonus and the option of a further year on top. Crewe manager Steve Davis was pleased with the players decision saying: "I'm delighted he's decided to stay. I hope we can make him a better player, I'd like to think that he can become the 15 to 20 goal a season man we need."
