Torquay boss Martin Ling admits Crawley are in control of their destiny but is not about to give up on promotion to League One.
Crawley's 3-1 midweek victory over Northampton saw them leapfrog Torquay into third spot on goal difference.
Shrewsbury also picked up all three points to pull four points clear of the two sides, leaving a straight fight between Torquay and Crawley for the final automatic promotion place.
Crawley hold the advantage, by way of an eight-goal better goal difference. Ling has urged his side to pick up maximum points from the final three games.
"You could say it looks like 60-40 against us. I don't think you're going to make the goal difference up over three games, so we've got to get more points than them," said the Gulls boss.
"Swindon and probably Shrewsbury have flown the nest, so it's down to ourselves and Crawley now."
