Keeper deal in doubt
Leeds United, 16:40, July 3, 2009 ,
Leeds United's hopes of landing Darryl Flahavan from Crystal Palace have suffered a setback thanks to the Football League.
Palace boss Neil Warnock is rethinking his decision of previous years not to name a keeper on the substitutes bench as the Football League have changed their rules and will in future allow seven players to be named on the bench.
The pending change means Flahavan, who is interested in a move to Leeds, will have to wait for Palace to find an understudy for Julian Speroni before sealing an exit route.
Warnock said "Obviously with the number of substitutes we can name next season, there is more scope there for me to name a sub keeper and that's a big possibility for us.
"We would need to have a keeper lined up before we let Darryl leave."
