Warnock focussed on squad

Neil Warnock is continuing to focus on strengthening his squad in time for the new season despite mounting speculation on his future.
Warnock has been reported to be unhappy at the club's inability to raise enough money to sign Joel Ward from Portsmouth or any of his other summer transfer targets, following the initial capture of former Pompey defender Jason Pearce. Leeds confirmed at the end of last month that they were in talks with an unnamed group of potential investors, but have released no statement since and fans are growing increasingly frustrated at the perceived lack of progress. Warnock, who wanted at least two more new signings completed before he went on holiday last month, told the club's official website: "The main thing I'm concentrating on is the squad and what we can do to strengthen. "I know what I'm looking to achieve before the start of the season to give us the best opportunity of finishing as high as we can and that process is ongoing." Leeds, understood to be negotiating with a mystery American consortium, have given no indication as to whether the talks are about potential investment or a full takeover and with all transfer activity apparently on hold, Warnock's patience is set to be tested further.
