Leeds manager Neil Warnock has admitted that defender Lee Peltier was a player he thought he would be unable to bring to Elland Road.
Peltier, 25, joined United on a three-year contract from npower Championship rivals Leicester and will slot into the right-back berth at the Yorkshire club. "I'm delighted," Warnock told the club's official website. "He's a player who I didn't think we'd be able to afford at the start of the summer. "My target was Joel Ward as everyone knows. That drifted away and I was disappointed at the time, but when it became clear we could go for him [Peltier] I was delighted. "It took a little longer than we thought, but negotiations do sometimes, and it's good to get it over the line. He's strong and exciting. "Every manager wants another two more players and ideally I'd like another striker and a wide right."
