Pearson planning ahead

Manager Nigel Pearson is already clear about what changes he wants to make to his Leicester squad for next season.
The Foxes were promotion favourites at the start of the campaign following the summer spending spree under former boss Sven-Goran Eriksson but they have missed out on the play-offs and ninth is the highest position they could finish. Pearson does not expect the same financial backing afforded to Eriksson, but he knows what he wants to do during the close season. "We are looking forward now to our preparations for next season. We still have a game to go, which is very much a part of moving forward," Pearson said. "I am very clear in my mind how we move forward and what is needed so it is very much a case of seeing the season out, both on the training pitch and on the field at Leeds, in the right way. Then the hard work really starts. "I think it is important that we do make some changes and it will be hard to do that. I am not presuming that the money that was spent last year will be spent this year, I think there will be a little bit more trading done because the financial fair play rules will have an impact on clubs like ourselves."
