Pearson wants strong finish
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson pointed to inconsistency as to why the pre-season promotion favourites failed to live up to expectations.
However, Pearson wants his team to finish the season strongly in their remaining fixtures at home to West Ham and away at Leeds.
"We have two games left and we have to try and win those and finish the campaign as well as we can," Pearson said. "We still want two performances as it is important we finish as positively as possible.
"The reason we have missed out is because we have not been consistent enough. Back-to-back wins on only two occasions is not good enough. We were unable to sustain any sort of run. Clearly you are not going to have success if you don't do that and that is something I will look to address."
On the game against Burnley, Pearson added: "We tried to break down a very stubborn side who clearly came to keep it exceptionally tight but we were unable to do so.
"I felt we were the team that tried to win the game, and it's frustrating for everyone because as fans you want to see your team scoring goals and the players want to be as positive as possible but sometimes it just doesn't happen for you."
