Schmeichel added to Denmark squad
Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has been called up to Denmark's Euro 2012 squad following an injury to Thomas Sorensen.
Sorensen suffered a back injury during the 3-1 friendly defeat to Brazil in Hamburg on Saturday and the 36-year-old Stoke stopper will not now travel to Poland and Ukraine.
His place in Morten Olsen's 23-man squad has been taken by Schmeichel, the son of Denmark great Peter.
Schmeichel has been drafted in as the third keeper behind Stephan Andersen and Anders Lindegaard.
Olsen insists he had no qualms about calling up the uncapped 25-year-old, telling the BT newspaper: "He has worked seriously on his development as a goalkeeper, and we followed him closely during the season for Leicester."
