Agger going nowhere

Liverpool, 20:47, June 14, 2010 ,

Liverpool's Daniel Agger admits he has no intention of quitting the club despite the departure of manager Rafael Benitez.

Benitez left the club at the end of the season, with Liverpool failing to qualify for the Champions League after their worst season for many years.
Reports suggested that the Spaniard's departure would see a host of Liverpool stars heading for the exit door with Steven Gerrard the highest-profile player linked with a move away from Anfield.
But Agger has pledged his future to the Merseyside club, and admitted he was as shocked as anyone when his manager was relieved of his position at the club.
"I'm a little surprised because I didn't see it coming," he told the Liverpool Echo. "Of course there has been a lot of talk about it but I didn't see it happening right now. The time with him was good.
"He is a good manager, he knows his stuff and he knows what football is about. When I return from my summer holiday, I'll see what is new, but his exit has no bearing on my future. I'm committed to Liverpool."
Punters looking to use a free bet might fancy a bet on Liverpool to win the Premiership next season with a new manager set to be unveiled soon.
A new man in charge can often have a galvanising effect and the Reds could surprise a few, with less pressurised mid-week games in Europe next term.
