Babel's first team hopes

Liverpool, 09:49, November 16, 2009

Liverpool's Dutch ace Ryan Babel has again reiterated that he wants to stay at the club and become a first team regular.

The Dutchman has made just two starts this season despite the injury problems at the club and their run of indifferent form but despite his lack of matches he's still desperate to make a name for himself at Anfield.

Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has warned that he will only take players to next year's World Cup who are playing for their club sides but Babel sees that as an extra incentive to get into the team.

"He (van Marwijk) wants players to be playing at their club to get a chance to go to the World Cup," he told the Post.

"That's also what I have to try to reach and I am working every day very hard.

"Liverpool are a very good team everybody knows that and I am proud to be part of Liverpool."
