Benitez confident over Reds title bid

Liverpool, 12:07, October 10, 2009 ,

Rafael Benitez believes Liverpool are still capable of challenging for the Premier League title despite their bad start to the season.

The Reds have already lost three games this season, one more than they did in the whole of the last campaign, and question marks over the sustainability of Liverpool's title challenge continue to surface.
The Merseysiders go into this weekend's international break sixth, six points behind current league leaders Chelsea after last Sunday's 2-0 defeat to the Blues.
Despite the slow start and mounting criticism against his side Benitez still believes Liverpool can win the league, and punters may fancy backing the Reds gaffer with their free bet.
"The most difficult thing this season is to manage expectation," the manager told liverpoolfc.tv.
"Last season we finished with 86 points and everyone was talking about this being the year.
"It's a long race and if we make mistakes and give up too early it will be impossible.
"So the main thing for everyone here is to try to be calm and keep working hard."
Liverpool face Sunderland next Saturday before the massive game against Manchester United the week after.
