Benitez excited by revival hopes
Liverpool, 14:15, November 13, 2009 ,
Rafael Benitez is convinced Liverpool will get worried fans back on-side once they have found some consistency.
The Reds have already lost five Premier League matches so far this season and their Champions League aspirations hang in the balance.
Next up is another difficult fixture, against Manchester City, but Anfield boss Benitez is convinced his players will turn the corner.
"We have to change some small things that we need to improve on. We talk about the positives and analyse the negatives," said the Spaniard.
Injuries to the likes of Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Albert Riera, Yossi Benayoun, Daniel Agger and Fabio Aurelio have meant Benitez has struggled for consistency when picking his team.
However, the Spaniard is optimistic a run of wins will lift the gloom on Merseyside and give the players belief back.
He added: "Maybe we can start the season right now. Winning against City will be a big boost for everyone and if that happens I'm sure we'll see the best of the team.
"I am 100% sure everything will be totally different if we can win the game against City after this international break. The season can be good if we do well."
