New signing Fabio Borini says he is desperate to prove he is good enough to play in the Premier League at the second attempt.
The former Chelsea striker had four years in London, appearing just eight times for the Blues, before moving on to Parma and subsequently Roma. Now, despite a good year in Seria A, he is back and determined to show Liverpool supporters that he is up to the grade and can live up to his £11m fee. The 21-year-old Italy international told the Echo: "The Premier League is the greatest league in the world," "I always wanted to play in England. When I left Chelsea I was always thinking that one day I'd be back again. "When I had been bought by Roma, my first thought was to stay there. I didn't expect Liverpool to come and buy me but then the offer came. "It wasn't a hard decision, It only took five seconds to decide I wanted to come to England. I just wanted everything the quickest way possible. "I know I have something to prove. That is the case every day on the training ground, every weekend when there is a game. Every time I have to prove that I can play "I want to bring goals and add value to the team. I want to be recognised as a person first of all and then a footballer. "I want to be a focal point of the team at some stage of my career and maybe that could be now. I don't want to move every season, I want to stay in this team for many years."
