Jamie Carragher says he is likely to sign a new two-year deal at Liverpool in the next fortnight, after holding talks with the club.
The defender will take part in his testimonial match against Everton on Saturday, to celebrate his illustrious career with the Reds - which has seen him win every trophy, bar the Premier League title.
Carragher has always stated that he wants to end his playing career with Liverpool, making him a one-club man, and it looks like he will get his wish with a new deal on the table.
The 32-year-old revealed: "I have spoken to the managing director, Christian Purslow, and we've had a good chat about the new contract. I'm sure it will happen.
Carragher added: The most important thing was for the club to get the ins and out sorted before the transfer deadline. That's done now so I'm sure we will have something sorted out in the next week or two."
