Carroll finally settling down
Liverpool, 08:39, February 21, 2012
Liverpool striker Andy Carroll believes his career at Anfield has finally got going after a slow start at the club.
Carroll moved to Merseyside from Newcastle for a British record of £35 million on the last day of the transfer window in January 2011.
Although last season was plagued by injuries for the Englishman, he did have the benefit of a full pre-season at the Reds.
After a slow start to this campaign, Carroll is delighted with his two goals in the last four games, including in Sunday's 6-1 victory over Brighton in the FA Cup.
"I feel like I am doing well," he said. "I have just started scoring goals and I am doing well in games.
"I think it has all come together. I'm getting around the pitch a bit more, getting involved. I am happy, more confident and things are going all right."
Carroll will be pushing for a starting place in the side to face Cardiff in the Carling Cup final on Sunday from Wembley. The game against the Championship club is Liverpool's first final in five years.
