Chelsea result the benchmark

Defender Glen Johnson believes Liverpool have to use their demolition of Chelsea as a benchmark for next season.

The Reds gained some form of revenge for the FA Cup final defeat by hammering an understrength Chelsea side at Anfield on Tuesday to end a poor season at home.
Liverpool can overtake near-neighbours Everton on the final day of the season to finish seventh but Johnson knows a repeat next campaign of this season's poor form will be unacceptable.
"At times it's been a frustrating season," said the England international. Sometimes we haven't had the rub of the green. We've played well and not won at times."You have to ride through the bad times and wait for the good times. We've got a good win and now we want to keep it going into the start of next season."
